Zwijndrecht is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Burcht and Zwijndrecht proper. On January 1st, 2000 Zwijndrecht had a total population of 17,801 (8,774 males and 9,027 females). The total area is 20.13 km² which gives a population density of 884.30 inhabitants per km².
