Wood Green



         


Wood Green, London N22, is a place in North London, England, in the London borough of Haringey. Before the reorganisation of local government in Greater London in the 1960s, it was an independent borough. Before urbanisation (principally in the latter half of the 19th century), It was originally part of Tottenham , covered by Woodland called Tottenham Wood; hence the name of the area, Tottenham Wood Green.

On January 7, 2003, British police announced details of the discovery of traces of the toxin ricin in a flat in Wood Green in the wake of the arrest of 6 terrorist suspects. A massive search for their accomplices followed.
