Wieringen (population: 8,398) is a municipality consisting of the eponymous former island in the northwest of the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland.
The municipality covers an area of 211.60 km² (of which 185.11 km² water) and includes the following towns, villages and townships: Dam, De Haukes, De Hoelm, Den Oever, Hippolytushoef, Hollebalg, Noordburen, Oosterklief, Oosterland, Smerp, Stroe, Vatrop, Westerklief, Westerland.
Wieringen received city rights in 1315.
