Western Sydney is a very general, informal, term which is used to describe the western parts of the metropolitan area of Sydney, Australia.

The local government areas of Parramatta, Blacktown, Penrith, Holroyd, Fairfield, Liverpool would generally be considered to comprise "Western Sydney".
