Wellingborough is a town situated some eleven miles from Northampton, the county town of Northamptonshire, Wellingborough dates from the 6th Century. It is mentioned in the Domesday Book under the name of Wendelburie, and was granted a market charter in 1201. Wellingborough is the seat for the larger Borough of Wellingborough.
