Waterfall, New South Wales

Waterfall is a suburb of Sydney, Australia. It is adjacent to Engadine.

Once seldom known, except as a terminus for CityRail's suburban Illawarra line, it has become synonymous with the rail disaster on January 31, 2003 of an intercity train service which crashed just past Waterfall. The actual cause of the crash is still not completely known, but may have had to do with a brake fault.

Waterfall is the last town before the commencement of the F3 freeway/Princes Highway to the city of Wollongong.
