Walter David Alexander Lentaigne
Major General Walter David Alexander Lentaigne (1899-1955) British Indian Army
As a Brigadier he replaced Major General Charles Wingate as commander of the Chindits when Windgate was kill in an air crash.

- 1942-1945 in March 1942 after Wingate's death in an aircraft crash on March 24 1944 the command of the Chindits (77th Indian Infantry Brigade) was handed to brigadier Lentaigne, one of the Chindit Brigade commanders known for his caution. He spent the rest of the war in in Burma contributing to the Burma Campaign.
