Virton is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Luxembourg. On January 1st, 2002 Virton had a total population of 10,935 (5,260 males and 5,675 females). The total area is 95.91 km² which gives a population density of 114.01 inhabitants per km². Virton is the capital of the small region called Gaume (well-known for its micro-climate).
