Verve Records is an American Jazz record label.
The company was founded by Norman Granz in 1956. The Verve catalog grew thoughout the 1950s and 1960s to include most of the major figures in jazz. It later incorporated the Mercury/EmArcy jazz catalog.
Verve was acquired by MGM Records in 1961 for $3 million. In the seventies it became part of the Polygram group.
