USS San Jacinto

Three ships of the United States Navy have been named USS San Jacinto, after the Texas battle of San Jacinto in 1836.

The first San Jacinto was an early screw frigate of the Navy, launched in 1850 and active during the American Civil War, but wrecked at the beginning of 1865.

The second San Jacinto (CVL-30) was a light aircraft carrier that saw action in the latter half of World War II and was decommissioned in 1947.

The third San Jacinto (CG-56) is a guided missile cruiser commissioned in 1988 and in service as of 2004.

The SS San Jacinto was a civilian steamship that collided with the USS Oosterdijk in 1918.
