Propulsion: Virginia-class submarine, was the third ship of the United States Navy to be named for the ninth state. The contract to build her was awarded to the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corporation in Groton, Connecticut on 14 August 2003. As of mid-2004, her keel had not yet been laid down.
