University of Wales Swansea



         


The University of Wales, Swansea was founded in July 1920 and was the 29th university established in the British Isles. As of 2004, the university had over 13,000 students (approximately 12,000 full-time and 1,000 part-time).

The first female Professor of a British university was was appointed at the University of Wales Swansea in 1921.

The university is located on the north coast of Swansea Bay, east of the Gower Peninsula.
