University of Buenos Aires

The Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) is the biggest university in Argentina, founded on August 12 1821 in the city of Buenos Aires. It consists of 14 faculties, 6 hospitals, 10 museums and the high schools Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires and Escuela Superior de Comercio Carlos Pellegrini.

Despite its size, the UBA has no central campus. Even though plans existed for an 'university city', the construction was never finished due to lack of funds. Currently only 3 out of the 14 main faculty buildings are located at the site of the projected campus, with all other faculties sparsed through the city.
