Universiteit Maastricht (Maastricht University), founded in 1976, is the youngest university in the Netherlands. Apart from Dutch-language courses, also English programmes are offered, e.g., at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (International Business), at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (European Studies) and at the University College. The university is known for its problem-based learning method as an alternative way of teaching.
