U.S. Highway 401 is a spur of U.S. Highway 1. It currently runs 257 miles from Norlina, North Carolina at U.S. Highway 1 to Sumter, South Carolina at U.S. Highway 76. It passes through the states of North Carolina and South Carolina. It goes through the cities of Raleigh, North Carolina, Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Sumter, South Carolina.
