Truth Hurts is the latest protege of Dr. Dre and is a member of his Aftermath Records. She is a funky and vocally powerful R&B singer with a unique sound. Her debut single, 2002's "Addictive," had an Indian-inspired sound. It was a huge hit and featured a verse from rap legend, Rakim.
Since "Addictive", Truth Hurts has become relatively obscure. To date, she remains as a one-hit wonder in America. "Addictive"'s followup, a song called "The Truth" featured R. Kelly on the chorus; even so, the song was not touched by American radio or video channels.
Truth Hurts returned in 2004 with her sophomore effort. Its first single, "Ready Now", was released over the summer of '04, without much fanfare.
