Tony Jarrett

Tony Jarrett (born: August 13, 1968 in Enfield, London, England) was a sprint and hurdling athlete.

He would undoubtedly been more of a household name if his career had not been overshadowed by the quite awesome achievements of fellow Briton Colin Jackson who beat him into second place on numerous occasions at major competitions such as the World Championships, Commonwealth Games (twice), European Championships and Goodwill Games. Colin also finished first ahead of Tony eight times at the national championships.

Tony was disqualified for false starts at both the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia in the first round and the Edmonton World Championships a year later in the semi-finals, events he never appeared to recover from.
