Tonbridge and Malling is a local government district and borough in Kent, England. Its council is based in Tonbridge and Kings Hill. Other towns include West Malling and Larkfield. In the 2001 census the population was 107,561.
The area has been occupied for thousands of years as the Neolithic Long barrow of the Coldrum Stones attests. Other sites of interest include St Mary's Abbey dating from 1092, the medieval manor house of Ightham Mote and the Hop Farm, which has some of the finest examples of Victorian oast houses, used for preparing hops for brewing.
The countryside is scattered with picturesque villages, orchards and bluebell woods. The River Medway flows in a north easterly direction, through Tonbridge towards the Medway Gap.
