1979 - Rap was created, by reciting rhimes over a disco beat
1983 - Rapping no longer had a disco beat, more so a rock beat and the first "beat boxing" was heard
1986 - The first gangster rap records, rap was popular than every before and was only percussion, no instruments
1990 - Rap was now more about political issues and emaotional
