Note: There is also a 1974 theatre production with the same name.

The Rules of the Game (original French title: La règle du jeu) is a 1939 film directed by Jean Renoir about upper-class French society just before the start of World War II.

Screenplay: Renoir, Camille Francois, Carl Koch, Henry Cartier, and Andre Zwoboda.

Cinematography: Jean Bachelet.

Costumes: Coco Chanel.

Edited: Marguerite Renoir.

Produced: Claude Renoir.
