The Killing is director Stanley Kubrick's only "crime" genre film and his last wholly "commercial" effort. Sterling Hayden organizes a crew to commit a race track heist and things don't go as planned. The film's use of shifting time and points of view influenced many later filmmakers such as Quentin Tarantino.
