Douglas Adams' science fiction story The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is being made into a movie. Shooting was completed in August 2004 and the movie is currently in post-production. It will be released on 6 May 2005 in the UK and on 3 June 2005 in the USA.
The original screenplay was written by Douglas Adams himself, but was later revised by Garth Jennings and Karey Kirkpatrick after Adams' untimely death.
