The Delinquents

The Delinquents were formed in the late 1970s in Austin, Texas during the punk hey days. Their first recording; an EP, included the indie hit, "Alien Beach Party". In 1980 they recorded their self titled album ,"The Delinquents" to rave reviews and it was not long after that they stepped into the studio again with Lester Bangs.

The collaboration with Lester took only three months to put together and an even shorter time-16 hours-to record. The album titled,"Jook Savages on the Brazos" was the result. It was quoted that, "Lester's album with the Delinquents was the predecessor of so-called alternative-country bands such as Wilco and Son Volt".

Bands members included: Andy Fuertsch, Brian Curley, Mindy Curley, Layna Pogue, Cary Brock, Melissa Cobb, and Becky Bickham.
