The Client (1993) is a fictional legal thriller written by American author John Grisham, set in Memphis, Tennessee. It reflects the negative influence of TV and media over young children, mixed with various legal elements and suspense. The protagonist, Mark Sway, an eleven-year-old, watched a lawyer kill himself and now had valuable information wanted by the FBI. Knowing that if he talked, he'd be chased and probably killed by the mafia, he hired an attorney, Reggie Love. Along with his lawyer, he runs away to New Orleans and agrees to the Witness Protection Program and flees to a foreign land.
