The Blue Racer

A DePatie-Freleng Production In Association with Mirish Cinema Coperation

Series of theatrical cartoons produced at DePatie-Freleng Enterprises from 1972 to 1974.

The series was similar to Road Runner and Coyote except it was a blue snake and a Japanese beetle.

The series is hardly seen today, due to Japanese streotypes. After it's theatrical run, the series pretty much disappeared, although it's evident that some television networks may have aired it, since few 16mm films showed up in collector's hands.

Both characters spun-off from Tijuana Toads in "Hop and Chop" (Japanese beetle) and "Snake in the Gracias" (Blue Racer)

17 cartoons were produced.

Directors are Art Davis, Gerry Chiniquy, Sid Marcus, Robert McKimson, David Deneen, Bob Balser, and Cullen Houghtaling.

Producers are David H. DePatie and Friz Freleng.
