The Avalanches



         


The Avalanches are an Australian electronic music collective. Their debut album, Since I Left You (2000), was made almost entirely of samples from other songs. In Australia they are signed with Modular Recordings, whilst in the United Kingdom, Since I Left You was released 2001 under the XL Records label.

The first single (second in the UK) off the album "Frontier Psychiatrist" debuted and peaked at #48 in the Australian ARIAnet Singles Chart, and at #18 on the UK Singles Chart, while the second single (first in the UK) "Since I Left You" debuted and peaked at #16 in the UK and also entered the top 100 in Australia. Their debut album, also titled Since I Left You, peaked at #18 in the UK Albums Chart.
