Telstra Dome is a stadium in the developing Docklands precinct of Melbourne, Australia, that caters for both sporting and entertainment events. Opened on 9 March, 2000, as Colonial Stadium, its name was changed on 22 July when the Telstra telecommunications carrier acquired the naming rights.
The stadium features both movable seating and a retractable roof. It can seat from 12,000 to 74,000 people depending on the type of event. The fixed seating number for Australian Football League matches is 53,399.
The stadium was developed as a replacement for Waverley Park. The Seven Network is a major shareholder in the ground.
