Taxi

Taxi may mean:

• A form of public transportation: see taxicab.
• An American television comedy: see Taxi.
• The title of a number of movies, the best known of which is Taxi Driver , another is Taxi from 1998
• A Romanian pop band -- see Taxi.
• An air taxi (charter jet) is a bizjet.
• A water taxi is a small boat that transports passengers on water.
• A verb describing the movement of an aircraft between runways, or between a hangar or terminal and a runway. The paved surfaces on which aircraft taxi are called taxiways.
• An oriented locomotion in a gradient, usually of simple organisms (chemotaxis, magnetotaxis, ...)
• An Australian exclamation, normally heard in pubs, clubs and bars following an act of discoordination (i.e. spilling drinks or breaking glasses). Suggesting that the uncoordinated party should probably be put in a taxi and sent home immediately.
