Tangshan (唐山市: Tángshān shì) is a prefecture-level city in Hebei province, People's Republic of China.
Tangshan suffered an earthquake on July 28, 1976, which reached 8.2 on the Richter scale, and had 400,000 casualties.
Tangshan is located 135 km from Beijing in the east. A round-city ring road in the form of an expressway exists, linking it with the Jingshen Expressway, running from Beijing to Shenyang.
Tangshan is sometimes called "the capital of porcelain in north China".
