The Sword of Mars was Attila the Hun's sword, supposedly first owned by Ares, the god of war. The Huns believed that whoever held it would be invincible and destined to rule the world. Attila used it against his enemies among both the barbarians and the Romans. According to Priscus the sword was found, buried in the earth, by a shepherd.
