Susceptance

In electrical engineering, susceptance (variable B) is the inverse or reciprocal of reactance X:

<math>

B = X^{-1} = 1/X <math>

Just as reactance is the imaginary part of impedance, susceptance is the imaginary part of admittance:

<math>

Y = G + j B <math>

The magnitude of admittance is given by:

<math>

Y = \sqrt {G^2 + B^2} <math>

Y is the admittance, G is the conductance, and B is the susceptance.
