Super Mario Advance
Mario Bros. Remake Series began by Nintendo as a program to modernize their games for the Game Boy system and conform to the new gaming trends. The series consists of updates to all the Mario Bros. console games in the Super Mario Bros. series which spanned both the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. All the games feature the original Mario Bros. arcade game created in 1983 with increased graphics and more enemies. This is integrated into the edition of the game within the cartridge. All the games have been updated with character voices, increased color and graphics, new enemies, new bonuses and secrets, more difficult obstacles, and even some new abilities.
Members of the Mario remake Game Boy series:
- Super Mario Advance is an update of the 1988 NES game "Super Mario Bros. 2" The update was distributed in 2001 for Game Boy Advance. Voices added to key characters as well as new obstacles gave renewed life to this, the least popular of the Mario series.
- Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World is a re-release of the 1991 SNES hit game "Super Mario World." The update was distributed in 2002. Due to the larger port size from a SNES cartridge, this game only featured minor additions as well as the original Mario Brothers game.
- Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island is a re-release of the 1995 SNES game "Yoshi's Island." The update was distributed in 2002. Its only noticeable additions were the inclusion of Yoshi's voice throughout his dialogue and six new difficult levels.
- Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3 is a updated version of the NES hit game "Super Mario Bros. 3." The update was distributed in 2003. A major update to the favoured Super Mario Bros. 3, this version includes new levels as well as compatibility with the new Game Boy E-Reader.
