Sub-notebook is an ambiguous term for some kind of laptop computer that is smaller than a notebook, usually smaller than a DIN A4 sheet of paper. It could be either a common laptop or something more like a personal digital assistant.
Computers larger than PDAs but smaller than notebooks are also sometimes called "palmtops".
