Strong Bad is a major fictional character in Homestar Runner. Nominally a Mexican wrestler, Strong Bad is usually shirtless, is short relative to Homestar and most of the other characters, and has boxing gloves for hands and a Mexican wrestling mask for a face. (A common misconception is that Strong Bad is wearing gloves and a mask; they are literally his hands and face and he chastises someone for suggesting otherwise in .)

Along with his big brother Strong Mad and their buddy The Cheat, Strong Bad claims to represent the "criminal element" in the cartoon, and many shorts concern the various practical jokes, scams, and underhanded schemes that they perpetrate against the other characters. Although these "crimes" are usually of an only slightly malignant nature, like or , Strong Bad still acts as if he is a villainous mastermind. He would also have you believe that that he is the ruler of a land called "Strong Badia", but this land is just an empty lot in his backyard, with the population of a single tire.

While Strong Bad makes a show of being tough and manly, he secretly enjoys baking, and has been known to sing, draw, or paint from time to time. His singing is usually limited to quiet ditties while he's strolling, or as an introduction to checking his e-mail, but he is also featured recording a dance hit called , and unwillingly, unwittingly writing a . Arguably Strong Bad's most famous creation is of "Trogdor the Burninator" the "wingaling" dragon with a beefy arm coming out of the back of its neck.

Strong Bad is highly prone to exaggerating his alluring qualities, and claims to have dozens of girlfriends, none of whom, naturally, have ever been seen; at one point though, he actually admitted to knowing nothing about "the ladies", but quickly tried to cover it up, and would probably deny any such allegations (see ). In response to a recent email, Strong Bad interviewed himself?! to find out the secret to his "pizzaz"/what makes him so cool, but, as expected, he never got a straight answer out of himself.

Each week or two, Strong Bad uses his vintage computer, the "Compy 386", to answer a viewer's question sent in by e-mail; his are the most regularly updated portion of the Homestar Runner website. Strong Bad answered on March 16, 2004. The special widescreen cartoon, entitled "Flashback", revealed how Strong Bad and The Homestar Runner first met and featured congratulations from a number of characters.

Strong Bad was reportedly inspired by the "Strong Bads" in the Nintendo Entertainment System game, Tag Team Wrestling. Oddly enough, Strong Bad has wrestled in only one cartoon.
