Stilgar

Stilgar is a fictional character featured in Frank Herbert's Dune universe. He is a key character in the science fiction novels Dune, Dune Messiah and Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.

The character stilgar becomes the leader of Fremen after Liet-Kynes is killed. He meets Paul Atreides (Muad'Dib) in the first novel Dune where he spares Paul's life as he is supposed to be a messiah according to a prophecy. By the end of Dune he is in awe of Paul considers him to be his emperor like the other Fremen. In the second (Dune Messiah) and third ( Children of Dune) novel he is a staunch helper/supporter of Pual and Paul's children respectively.
