Stephen Creswell Timms (born 29 July 1955) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He is Labour Party member of Parliament for East Ham, and was first elected in a by-election in 1994. He was a Minister of State at the Department of Trade and Industry, and became Financial Secretary to the Treasury on 9th September 2004, replacing Ruth Kelly. He had previously been leader of Newham Council.
