Stefan Heym



         


Stefan Heym (April 10, 1913 - December 16, 2001 ) was a German - Jewish writer, who was born in Chemnitz and died in Israel.

Stefan Heym wrote the modern European classic Der König David Bericht ,(1972) also called in english translation as The King David Report (1973). He also wrote the book The Wandering Jew (1984).

Stefan Heym was a name used as a pseudonym. His real name was Hellmuth Flieg. He died in Jerusalem. He was confered the Jerusalem Prize 'for the freedom of the individual in society', in (1993).
