Spenser: For Hire is a mystery, P.I. television series based on Robert B. Parker's "Spenser" novels. Spenser, played by Robert Urich, operated out of Boston and got involved in a new murder mystery each episode. It ran on the American Broadcasting Company network from 1985 to 1988.
The other major characters were Hawk, played by Avery Brooks, and Susan, played by Barbara Stock.
Actor Eric Bruno Borgman received his first acting role on this series.
