Spacker is a newly (2003) coined term used in the computer industry to denote a cracker who works for spammers.
Spackers take over computers through a variety of means, including writing computer viruses and worms to backdoor the victim's computer to use it to send spam, host spamvertised websites or launch denial of service attacks on sites run by anti-spamming organizations. Sobig, Fizzer and Mydoom are believed to have been commissioned by spammers. Virus writers have been caught selling lists of IP addresses of infected machines.
