South Wairarapa District Council

The South Wairarapa District Council controls the south-east tip of the North Island of New Zealand.

The district is part of the Wellington region. It includes towns such as Featherston, Martinborough (a famous wine-producing area with central streets forming a Union Jack), and Greytown (where Arbor Day was first celebrated in New Zealand), and topographical features such as Palliser Bay and Lake Wairarapa. Its western boundary is the watershed along the Rimutaka Range.
