Snopes
The Urban Legends Reference Pages (also known as Snopes.com) is a site dedicated to determining the truth about several urban legends, modern-day myths, and other stories floating around of uncertain or questionable origin. Snopes is run by Barbara and David Mikkelson. They research their topics heavily and provide references. The site is organized according to topic.
Many conservative writers online have complained about an alleged liberal bias in certain articles on Snopes.
Snopes comes from the name of a family in the works of writer William Faulkner.
