Snatch is a film by British director Guy Ritchie. Made in 2000, it stars Jason Statham, Brad Pitt, Benicio Del Toro, Vinnie Jones, Jason Flemyng, and Dennis Farina.
The majority of the cast starred in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Besides the cast, the films share the same ideas and motifs while using separate characters and storylines.
Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.
The plot of the film centers around a very valuable 86-carat diamond, stolen by Frankie Four-Fingers (Del Toro) in Antwerp and brought to London, where he and the diamond fall afoul of local thieves and underworld figures.
The film is characterised by Ritchie's usual assortment of colourful characters, especially the pikey (Irish Gypsy) Mickey (Brad Pitt), Uzbekistani ex-KGB agent and gangster Boris the Blade (or Boris the Bullet-Dodger) (Rade Serbedzija), and Bullet-Tooth Tony (Vinnie Jones), who can "find you Moses in the burning bush if you pay him".
The protagonist (and very occasional narrator) of the film is Turkish (Jason Statham), an unlicensed boxing promoter who finds himself in debt to local crime boss Brick Top Polford (Alan Ford) when his only fighter, Gorgeous George (Adam Fogerty), is injured in a fight with Mickey over a dodgy caravan Turkish's partner, Tommy (Stephen Graham), had bought.
Also involved are Sol (Lennie James) and Vincent (Robbie Gee), two fences hired by Boris the Blade to rob a bookie's while Frankie Four-Fingers is placing a bet, on the understanding that they will get the take and he will get the contents of the case (the diamond, of course) Frankie carries with him. Since the robbery goes horribly wrong and the bookie's is owned by Brick Top, Sol and Vincent are placed in a very difficult position themselves...
