Outside the United States

Nestlé Smarties are a colourful candy-coated chocolate confectionery popular in the UK, Canada and Australia. They are similar to M&Ms produced by Mars.

They were introduced in 1937 as "Chocolate Beans" by Rowntrees of York and renamed as Smarties in the following year. They became known as "Nestlé Smarties" in 1988 after the company Rowntree Macintosh was acquired by United States, Smarties are a type of loosely fruit-flavored candy produced by Ce De Candy. These are marketed outside of the US under the brand name "Rockets". One individual candy is in the shape of a cylinder, with a diameter of roughly 1 centimeter and a height of roughly .25 centimeter, and has a pale color - Smarties come in several different colors, including white, pale yellow, pale pink, and pale green.

They are usually packaged in the form of a tube-shaped array of candies, wrapped in a piece of transparent, pliable plastic sheet. Because each package is small and inexpensive, they are often given away in bulk for occasions such as parties or Halloween.

This particular version of Smarties also comes in an "Extreme Sour" flavor.
