Microsoft has described its Smart Personal Object Technology (SPOT) initiative as being "aimed at improving the function of everyday objects through the injection of software"
It´s an initiative to introduce software and hardware that will make everyday devices smarter (smart devices) and more useful for consumers.
Smart wristwatches will be the first SPOT-based application.
