Slubice
Poland, with 17,600 inhabitants (1998). It is located on the Oder river, directly opposite the city Frankfurt an der Oder in Germany.
Located in the Lubusz Voivodship (since 1999), it is the capital of
of Slubice County.
Before the border changes in 1945, the present area of Slubice formed
the eastern suburbs of Frankfurt an der Oder. With Poland now a member of
the European Union, there are plans to reintegrate the infrastructure
and services of the two cities.
