In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, Slaad (plural Slaadi) are a race of chaotic neutral creatures native to the Outer plane of Limbo, which resemble giant humanoid frogs. Slaadi of differing colors have a rigid social caste. In their Feudalism, there are Red Slaad, Blue Slaad, Green Slaad, Grey Slaad, and the mighty Death Slaad. They are listed above in order of strength. Slaadi reproduce asexually. Their claw attacks implant eggs into hosts. Red Slaadi eggs produce Blue Slaadi. Blue Slaadi eggs produce Red Slaadi. If either a Red Slaad or Blue Slaad infect an arcane spellcaster, the host will spawn a Green Slaad, superior to its parent in that it may cast spells. A Green Slaad, upon reaching it's hundredth year of life, will transorm into a Grey Slaad over the course of a year. Some grey Slaadi undergo a mysterious ritual, which transforms them into Death Slaadi. Death Slaadi posess amazing magical and physical might. No two slaad are the same, their inherent Chaos gives them all unique traits. There was once a time when Slaadi of different colors were common, each more fantastic and powerful than the last. However, two of the most powerful Slaadi sealed the Spawning Stone, which keeps the Slaadi within the afore-mentioned groups (though anomolies do slip through on a regular basis, albeit with less variety).
