Simon Jones



         


Simon Jones is a british actor and was born July 27 1950 in Charlton Park, Wiltshire, England, UK. He is probably most famous for his appearances in the television and radio series of The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy where he played the title role of Arthur Dent. He also had appearances in various other tv series, e.g. Black Adder and films, e.g. Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, Twelve Monkeys or Green Card.

Like some of the Pythons he studied at Cambridge University and was a member of the famous Footlights, where he also met Douglas Adams. Therefore he participated in various film projects of Adams and the solo projects of the members of Monty Python.

In 2004, he reprised his role as Arthur Dent in a new radio series of The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
