Simmons College is a college in Boston, Massachusetts. Simmons was founded by John Simmons in 1899 to educate women in useful professions. It is still a single-sex school in undergraduate education, with 1300 students enrolled in 2004. The graduate schools (Library and Information Science, Social Work, Health Studies, and Management) are co-ed, but primarily focus on fields that were primarily for women.
