Shatt-al-Arab
The Shatt-al-Arab (called اروندرود Arvandrood in Persian), also called the Shatt-al-Arab waterway, is a river formed by the merging of the Tigris River and Euphrates River in southern Iraq.
The Shatt-al-Arab is quite short and empties into the head of the Persian Gulf. The Shatt-al-Arab is has both Iraq and Iran on its banks, which has been a cause of much disagreement.
The city of Basra is located on the south bank of the Shatt-al-Arab.
