Świdnica (German name Schweidnitz) is a town in south-western Poland with 64,800 inhabitants (1995). Situated in the Lower Silesian Voivodship (since 1999), previously in Walbrzych Voivodship (1975-1998).
There is a Church of Peace in Świdnica.
In the 18th century Świdnica was an important fortification.
